Dictionary content comes from openly licensed sources listed on the Sources page: Wiktionary (CC BY-SA 4.0), Tatoeba (CC BY 2.0 FR / CC0), Open English WordNet (CC BY 4.0), CEFR-J and Octanove profiles, wordfreq and CMUdict. You may reuse that content under its respective license. Our compiled database is CC BY-SA 4.0. The grammar lessons and the site design are © Krumeto unless stated otherwise.

No warranty

The site is provided as is. Definitions, translations and example sentences come from community-edited sources and may contain errors. Do not rely on them where accuracy is critical.

Fair use of the service

Automated access is allowed through the public JSON endpoint within its rate limits. Please do not scrape the HTML pages in bulk; download the dataset from the Data page instead.

Reports

Reports about a sentence or an entry that you send us are treated as CC0 so that we can pass them upstream to Wiktionary or Tatoeba. To report copyright concerns, write to [email protected]; we remove sentences on request.
